When in the wild it can sometimes be beneficial to catch your game alive. This simple cage will do just that when paired with a dead fall triggering mechanism. This cage requires a surprisingly small amount of cordage to build. Start by tying two sticks together with two strands of about 2 1/2 feet of cordage. Then twist the sticks once so the cordage creates an X. Now place two sticks under the x and perpendicular to the starting two sticks. Push those two sticks to the sides so you have the basic shape of a square. Now place two more sticks under the x, perpendicular to the last layer and parallel to the first layer. Now place these last two sticks out to the side. Continue this process until your cage starts to build up.
