The Disadvantage of Solely Relying on Gun Sights

Many new shooters rely heavily on using their sights to aim at stationary targets.  Many experienced shooters use their ability to accurately hit stationary targets as a measure of their skill.  While using sights and shooting at a fixed target is an integral part of gun training, it rarely leads to the development of skills that will help during a situation in the real world.  Let’s take a look at some of the inherent weaknesses associated with relying solely on this approach as well as how to better develop shooting skills.
