How to Make Ezekiel Bread With Minimal Resources



Ezekiel bread comes from the bible, and recipes have been used for centuries to provide a simple and efficient source of nutrition. It is especially useful during a survival situation because it involves minimal time and resources to prepare. Let’s take a look at a basic recipe so that you can get the general idea of how to prepare loaves on the fly.


The secret of this recipe is found in its simplicity, and it only requires some basic ingredients. Ezekiel 4:9 spells out the basis for this recipe: Wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet and spelt, which are wheat grains). Combine the ingredients in a jar and use as necessary. Many recipes exist today that incorporate different variations, but most of them still use some form of the basic ingredients. The amazing thing is that combining all of them together produces a near-perfect source of carbohydrates, nutrients and protein.


It is important to note that the ingredients, including the beans, should be dried and milled into a flour. ¼ Cup of millet flour.

1 Teaspoon of salt.

¼ Cup olive oil.

1 Teaspoon of yeast.

¾ to 1 Cup of water or whey.


You can also add some honey as a sweetener as well as a sprinkling of other grains or seeds to taste.




Mix all of the dry ingredients in a bowl before adding the olive oil and honey. Slowly add water and mix the ingredients. The amount of water that you will need may vary, so use the above measurement as a guideline. You are aiming for a doughy consistency that will not stick to your hands or the surface as you knead bread. Round the dough into a circle that is about the size and depth of a piece of pita bread. Allow it to rest and rise for about two hours. Place over hot coals and bake for about 10 minutes until the bread turns golden brown.


You can also place the dough into two greased loaf pans and let it rise for an hour. Paint an egg wash on top and sprinkle some seeds over the bread if you like. Place in a preheated, 350 degree oven and bake for between 40-60 minutes. The bread will be golden brown on top, and you can test to see if it is cooked on the inside by inserting a toothpick down the middle. The bread is done once the toothpick comes out clean.
